After becoming the 2021 Moto2 World Champion, Gardner continued his career at the highest level before making the switch to WorldSBK, where he quickly established himself as a fast and consistent rider.

Joining the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team in 2023, Gardner adapted rapidly to the Yamaha YZF-R1 and soon became a regular contender for top-ten finishes, podiums, and strong qualifying performances.
