Álvaro Bautista is one of the best-known Spanish riders in the Superbike World Championship. In 2022 he became the second Spanish rider to be Superbike World Champion, just ten years after Carlos Checa.

Born on November 21, 1984, the 2022 WorldSBK champion began his professional career at the age of nine competing in the Madrid minibike championship. Years later, he managed to participate in the Grand Prix World Championship, winning the championship on his third attempt in the category.

After several seasons of effort and work, Álvaro Bautista moved up to the MotoGP category, achieving podiums and pole positions. In 2019 he wanted a change in his career and he left MotoGP to land at WorldSBK, a championship that was going to open a new scenario filled with success for the Talavera rider.

With an impressive debut, Bautista was runner-up in the Superbike world in his first year and, in 2022, he became world champion, ahead of Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Jonathan Rea.
